The Early Years

The year was 1999. The place was Austin, TX.  It was the wild west days of Austin's Silicon Hills, where we divided our time between hanging out on 6th Street, alcohol fueled puppet shows, and writing code.

If you were under 30 and had an idea involving the newly minted Internet, spellbound investors were lining up to talk to you. We all thought we were going to be rich in 6 months.  Little did we know how many Ramen noodles were in our future.

After a lean few (ok, several) years, NuRelm began to find its place in the world and steadily gain traction as we continually tinkered with our business strategy to capitalize on Al Gore's brilliant invention.

While the less nerdy Web consulting firms of that era required compromises based on limited skill sets, NuRelm was building visually-stunning, functionally advanced websites that included the capability of updating without technical expertise.

After growing steadily and impressing the CRAP out of everyone (especially our parents) NuRelm founders and staff realized that more capital was necessary to expand into the national market. Thanks to our first angel investment (Mr. Robert Eberly and Fay-Penn Economic Development Council) NuRelm officially relocated from Austin, Texas to Uniontown, Pennsylvania in March of 2001.  This move ROCKED for the company and its founders as NuRelm quickly topped the one-million dollar mark in investments.

The following month, NuRelm released the second version of its rockin content management software, NuContent, which was gaining local and national recognition as a top product for scalability, flexibility, and ease-of-use.  Realizing that NuRelm's diverse client network had varied needs, the NuRelm Nerd Contingent also began offering integration services for a wide variety of open source content management software products. The company continued to bundle its software and services with the services of its partner network, which had grown to include over 30 companies.

NuRelm nerds have found new channels for growth by providing services such as custom Web programming,  large and small scale software integration, and full service editable Web hosting. NuRelm's Web hosting service, NuHost, makes high-quality content management and comprehensive Web IT services easily affordable for traditional non-technical businesses that do not have their own IT staff.

And we were just kidding about our parents being proud of us. We're pretty sure they still don't know what we do!
