Athletes
Whether you’ve competed in past Senior Olympics or this was your first experience, your participation in the National Senior Games will change your life. All across America, senior athletes trained and competed in their respective sports. Like their younger counterparts, they understood that sport is about more than health and fitness; that competition is about more than winning and losing. Striving to be the best brings out the best in those accepting the challenge. The Senior Olympics have helped thousands of older athletes bring greater meaning to their lives, and the Pittsburgh Games were no different. Volunteers, civic partners, corporate sponsors, and most importantly, athletes from across the country gathered to make Pittsburgh ‘05 the most rewarding and memorable National Summer Senior Games to date. On behalf of the residents of Pittsburgh and our corporate and institutional partners, the Pittsburgh Local Organizing Committee would like to extend to all athletes our encouragement and best wishes for continued success in your athletic endeavors. |
