The geographic heart of the '05 Senior Olympics was the Petersen Events Center -- the official Athletes Village of the Games. Located at the University of Pittsburgh, Oakland campus, the Petersen Events Center is a new, world-class indoor sports venue that seats 12,500 spectators and is within a short distance of Games-designated housing.

More than a competition venue, the center served as a gathering place for participants, fans, sponsors, and staff members. The Petersen Events Center featured:
