For those of you that have been following the Boss Blog series as you set up your first blog, you should have, by now, selected your url, selected your blog theme, selected your hosting firm, gotten your hosting firm to install and launch your blog and basic plugins, accessed and perused the administrative section of your blog, filled out your profile and other internal sections, and thoroughly read the accompanying WP tutorial.

If you haven’t yet read the entire WP tutorial carefully please read it now before you proceed further.  It will make the process much less confusing and will get you up to speed more quickly than trying to wing it. Believe me. I know. I am the queen bee of winging it and for those of us who did not grow up with a built-in aptitude for all things computer related it’s better to read the tutorial before asking a bunch of dumb questions and looking like an idiot. Or, even worse, paying someone to explain it to you when all you have to do is READ THE TUTORIAL.

Now that you have read the tutorial,  let’s do our very first blog post. To do your first blog post refer to the “Add Real Content” section of your Dashboard – accessed through the password protected administrative section of your WP blog. You should already be familiar with this section and how to add basic content now that you have read the WP tutorial.

For those who are having difficulty, this link tells you exactly how to enter content into your WP blog:

Your first blog post is one of your most important posts because it sets the tone of all subsequent blog posts by explaining the purpose of your blog. It also pulls together your vision of what you hope to achieve. Your first blog post should not be lengthy.  It should be short and to the point (no more than a couple of short paragraphs). In addition, it should peak the interest of your target readers.
